Zenson di Piave
The town of Zenson di Piave is characterized by the presence of the Piave River, which borders the town to the north and east, and features a flat landscape of fields cultivated with crops and vineyards.
Zenson di Piave's vicinity to the Piave was the original motivation for its settlement. With such a key location, it was a strategic position for surveillance of the river and, throughout the Barbaric invasions, a fortification was erected, although it was destroyed in the 16th century. As a result of the various historic events here, mainly floods, disease epidemics and World War I, the area has lost much of its major artistic heritage. Despite these setbacks, Zenson di Piave is still quite a modern town, with its agriculture serving as the biggest economic field.
