At Crocetta del Montello, at the former Villa Pontello school, there is the Museum of the Twentieth Century and the Great War,
The visit itinerary touches on all the various aspects of life in the period from the point of view of the soldier and the civilian. The section devoted to the Great War concerns and presents war events, facts, people, and objects found, mainly concerning the territory, with a lot of items regarding the life of the soldier and the populations fleeing from the occupation of the territory by the Austro-German troops.
There are also three-dimensional reconstructions linked to the decisive Solstizio battle and the Battle of Vittorio Veneto.
In the territory, on the summit of Montello along presa XVI, you can still see a bunker used as an observation post: the King’s Observatory, called this way because several times it was used by King Vittorio Emanuele III and chosen as the place to assist at the action of forcing the Piave in October 1918.
Other signs to be seen at Crocetta evoking the great events of the Great War are the headstone to the Assault Division, the Roman Column and the Stele to the Partisan.
